Embroidery Digitizing Print E-mail
The secret to quality embroidery is quality digitizing. At the Stitch Mine we have the experience and the technology to produce the results our clients are proud to show their customers. In recent years the trend in digitizing has moved from drafting and tablet input, to full on-screen input methods.  This has made digitizing more accessible but unfortunately has brought with it a generation of digitizers that have never learnt the fundamentals.  Embroidery Artwork
We started digitizing commercially in 1989, using drafting and tablet input, moving to an early on screen system in 1992. We have not abandoned the tablet completely as, in certain cases, the tablet method still produces better results. The Stitch Mine has clients throughout the UK, and we produce designs for Chinese, Russian and Indian factories. We have produced designs for many household names, including Philips, Cadbury's, Wella and Nestle. Artwork In digitizer
The process begins with the artwork which we can accept in almost any format. At this stage we also need to know what sort of fabric the design is intended for. Different fabrics behave in different ways with embroidery. For example, 100% cotton will lift with the needle and poly/cotton will not. We also need to determine what is realistic from a quality perspective. An example of this is, it is not always possible to produce lettering smaller than 5mm, although certain alphabets will stitch just below 4mm. This fact can influence the finished size of the design. part done
The artwork is then prepared and loaded in to the digitizing system. The design is then redrawn with all the correct overlaps, minimising the colour changes and non productive time on the machine.  This can often take several hours with a very complicated large design taking a whole day.

When the digitizing is completed, the design is sampled on the specified fabric, and any corrections are made. The design is then released to the customer in the desired format. We have extensive archives and should a design be lost, we can provide further copies.
